Better Stands
There are many things that can be done to make events better and, to this end, we will be looking at how to make all our events more sustainable. Informa believes that running all our events responsibly, with consideration for the sustainability of our markets and our industry, can play an important role in building strong relationships with our customers. It can help deliver better events, better business and a better world.
For LOUPE Americas, we will be focusing on the Informa Better Stands initiative which assists us in fulfilling our sustainability responsibilities.
What is the Better Stands initiative?
The aim of the Better Stands program is to unite and encourage exhibitors, along with their appointed contractors to move away from disposable, single use stands at events, in favor of re-usable or recyclable structures.
A disposable stand is a space only/raw space build that is used only once. They are typically constructed from poor quality raw materials onsite which are then demolished post show and sent to either landfill or are burned.
Why Better Stands?
- Reusable stands provide a myriad of improvements to our events that benefit our customers.
- They use higher quality materials, that do not produce carcinogenic dust like disposable stands.
- They are much easier to assemble and dismantle, which means less frequent requests for late working and early access, and potentially less move in days required.
- Reusable stands also are not typically constructed at height, which means less workplace accidents.
- All of this leads to a much better customer experience for our exhibitors.
- From Informa's perspective, disposable stands also create 80% of the total waste generated at our events. By moving towards increased use of reusable stands at our events means less waste produced and thus enabling us to reach our targets on waste.
How do we plan to deliver Better Stands?
Our approach to Better Stands will be individual to our industry sector, event location and each of our own show goals. Better Stands is a multi-year program of continuous improvement at each event cycle.

We would very much like your support to achieve our sustainability goals across our global portfolio. Our floor management team will be visiting each stand individually at LOUPE Americas and talking to you/your contractors regarding the materials and methods used to build your stand. They will then produce a post-show report with stand statistics.
RECYCLING
We are delighted to announce our partnership with Innovative Waste Strategies (IWS) with the support of Resource Label & RES to provide a sustainable end-of-life solution for the label matrix waste generated at LOUPE Americas 2026. The collected matrix waste will be transported to one of IWS’ material-processing partners in the Lakes region, where it will be repurposed as an ingredient in the production of alternative engineered fuel for cement kilns, replacing coal. This innovative approach ensures a 100% non-disposal solution by giving waste materials a new, beneficial purpose.
To maximize the amount of printed material processed through IWS, we kindly ask for your support during the event. Together, we can make a meaningful impact.
